Brain Tumor Race on November 2 Raises Funds for Los Angeles Researchers
Meet many LA celebrities and join this day of Hope!

October 20, 2014 – Playa Del Rey, CA  - Over a thousand runners, medical professionals, brain tumor survivors, families, friends, tv and movie stars are expected to run in the 7th Annual Heroes of Hope Race for Brain Tumor Research on Sunday, November 2, 2014. HOT 92.3’s Josefa Salinas, brain tumor warrior, is set to emcee.   Broadway’s Childhood Star Emma Howard will perform the National Anthem and Let’s Move Hollywood’s Dion Jackson along with professional childhood performers, (Emma Howard, Broadway’s Matilda and Violet, Kaeli Ware, Dance Moms/ Debbie Allen’s Brothers of The Knight, Gavin and Gabriella Morales, Dance Moms, See Dad Run, Chloe East, True Blood, Lexi Smith, dancer/model, Kaycee Rice, America’s Got Talent), will host the energizing warm up!

The race set against the Pacific Ocean provides a fast and flat course with stunning ocean views at Dockweiler State Beach. There is a Kids Fun Run and chip timed 5k, and 10k, with medals for all finishers and special medals for top 3 in all age divisions plus top prizes for overall fastest male and female in both events. This is a family friendly event with many activities for children and food and beverage galore. All kids will be medaled by professional dance kids who are representing the National iDance4aCURE campaign to end Childhood Cancer. The first 100 people at the iDance4aCURE tent will receive an autographed dancer poster. The Race will also present the coveted Rivals United in Hope Cup to the Largest Team, The Top Fundraising Team and the Top School. Last year USC and UCLA tied for the Top School trophy.

The race is lovingly dedicated to all those who have passed from brain cancer and honors the many warriors currently impacted.  Money raised directly funds childhood and adult brain tumor researchers at UCLA, Cedars-Sinai and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  Brain Tumor continue to be the leading cause of solid tumor death in children and the number two cause of cancer death in men under the age of 40.  Because brain tumors impact every facet of one’s being due to their location in the control center, they are extremely difficult to treat.  Researchers in Los Angeles are continuing to move promising, less toxic treatments through the pipeline and funds raised directly fuel this encouraging research.  The event is sponsored by The Armand Hammer Foundation, The Musella Foundation and Novocure and hosted by The Brad Kaminsky Foundation.
