In Loving Memory of Kathleen (Kathy) Rose Waddell
In May 2022, Kathleen (Kathy) Rose Waddell (formerly Kathleen Jean Radtke nee Rose), was diagnosed with glioblastoma. She fought bravely and tirelessly to beat the odds with this terminal brain cancer, and did so for two years and four months. She powered through brain surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation like a champion, never losing her resolve. She diligently worked through physical and occupational therapy to maintain mobility and quality of life, with her family and friends by her side for the duration. Kathy put up the strongest, bravest fight one could ever witness, but the cancer recurred in August 2024 and she passed away from the illness on September 27, 2024. Toward the end of her battle, her loving husband, John Waddell Jr., was diagnosed with the same terminal disease, and ultimately succumbed to it a month and a half prior to Kathy's own passing.
In honor of both Kathy and John, the family is asking for donations to fund glioblastoma research so that we may one day find a cure for this disease. It is our wish and our hope that someday, no one else will have to lose their life from glioblastoma.
