In Memory of Janet M. Grand

Janet M. Grand passed away on December 22, 2025, following a courageous journey with glioblastoma. After achieving 3½ years of remission, Janet faced her illness with remarkable strength, grace, and resilience.

Janet dedicated her professional career to serving students and educators as a Special Education Administrative Assistant with WISD.

Janet was the beloved wife of John R. Grand, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. She was a loving and devoted mother to Natalie (Andrew) O’Laughlin and a proud grandmother to William and Alexander O’Laughlin, who brought her immense joy. She was also a dear twin sister to James (Nadine) Friend. Known for her kindness, and bright smile, Janet touched the lives of all who knew her. Her courage in the face of illness and her lifetime of service to others will be remembered always.

A memorial service celebrating Janet’s life will be planned for a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements are finalized.

Janet will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
