New data on how Tumor Treating Fields Works

The name of the treatment has been changed from Novocure TTF100-A to Optune™ on 11/14/2014

Optune™ is a unique new form of treatment for brain tumors: it uses Tumor Treating Fields (TTF) to kill dividing cells. These fields are delivered by removable transducer arrays that are placed on the head. This was approved by the United States FDA in 2011 for use in patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme and in 2015 for use in patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma multifore Tumor Treating Fields have been added to the NCCN guidelines as the standard of care for treatment of recurrent glioblastom multiform.
