In Memory of William Richard "Rick" Herren, Jr.

Beloved husband, father, son and brother passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025 at his home with his family by his side after a brave battle with brain cancer. Age 54 years. The son of Cheryl (Simpson) Herren and the late William R. Herren, Sr., Rick was born on May 3, 1970 in Atlanta, Georgia. He married Nikki Lynn Bridge, his loving wife of 25 years, on June 19, 1999. She survives him. Rick retired from Saginaw Township Police Department after a dedicated career of 22 years. He was an avid and skilled golfer, and his absence is felt by many colleagues, friends, and family members.

Surviving besides his wife Nikki are one son, William 'Jack' Herren; his mother, Cheryl Herren; his sister, Kimberly (John) Beemer; his mother-in-law, Bonnie Cavendish; two brothers-in-law, Matthew (Vanessa) Bridge, Mark (Kelly) Bridge; many adored nieces and nephews including but not limited to, Ryan, Lexi and Keegan, Ashleigh, Jordan and Sydney. Rick was preceded in death by his father, William Herren, Sr., his father-in-law, Neil Bridge and step-father-in-law, John Cavendish.

Honoring Rick's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Rick's life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at New Life Saginaw, 6115 Shattuck Rd. Pastor Jeff Ralph will officiate. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research or the Saginaw Township Police Officers Association (STPOA). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.
