In Memory of Christopher Michael LambertiFebruary 27, 1975 ~ July 23, 2021Christopher Michael Lamberti, age 46, of Highland Park passed away on July 23, 2021 from Glioblastoma multiforme, at home with his loving family. Born February 27, 1975 in Evanston, Illinois to the union of Maurizio and Laurie Ann (Vernon) Lamberti. Chris did many things, though his life was cut short. A historian with a PhD from Brown University, a published author, and a fighter for social justice as an organizer and researcher for labor unions, he accomplished so much. But that's not the Chris we remember most vividly. Chris was funny. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, and he did this to the very end. He cared about others, took the time to listen and empathize with them. Chris cherished small things: family fishing trips to Wisconsin; playing music with his band, Bamboo Grove; traveling back to the Old Country with his beloved Milena; cooking and eating perfect bar-b-que; teaching young Sofia how to take delight in life. These were his passions. These were the things that mattered. These were what made Chris so wonderful and cherished. Beloved husband of Milena Sjekloca. Loving father of Sofia Lamberti (6). Devoted son of Maurizio Lamberti of Highwood and Laurie Ann Vernon of Lake Bluff. Dear brother of Joe (Amanda) Lamberti of Lake Forest, Katie (Mark) Olakowski of Libertyville. Cherished grandson of the late Franco and late Giovanna Lamberti, William (Bev) Vernon of Sarasota, Florida and the late Posie Vernon. Dear uncle to Jack, Lyla and Emmy Lamberti, Posie and Gemma Olakowski. Loving nephew of Eleanor (late John) Pieracci of Highland Park, Katy Vernon (Clifford Eisen) of Huntington Station, New York, Tony (Jean) Vernon of Sarasota, Florida, the late Tim Vernon, Peter Vernon of Evanston and John (Lori) Vernon of Downers Grove and many cousins. Fond Son in-law to Nada Senic of Chicago, Mihailo (Marija) Sjekloca of Podgorica, Montenegro and brother in-law to Luka Sjekloca, Jovana Sjekloca and Petar Mihailovic. Fond uncle to Marija and Matej. Following the committal service at the cemetery, everyone is invited to Highwood Bocce Club for reception.
