All proceeds benefit the Brad Kaminsky Foundation for Brain Tumor Research.
Mrs. Pennsylvania, 2004, Allison Hirschmann, the Kaminsky Foundation spokesperson, will be on site to sell cookbooks, sign autographs etc. Her platform is cancer awareness and she continues to fight for a cause even after her "reign". The church has also done concerts for Hurricane Katrina victims and Breast cancer awareness.
The Brad Kaminsky Foundation for Brain Tumor Research(TBKF), is a PA and VA based not for profit charity, dedicated to raising awareness and funds for brain tumors. The foundation began in 2000 after Bucks County, Assistant District Attorney, Brad Kaminsky, was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor, the most malignant form of brain cancer. Kaminsky passed away on Feb 10, 2001 after a 19 month battle. He was 29, and left two young children. The foundation run by Kaminsky's family and volunteers has raised over $140,000 for brain tumor research at large brain tumor centers such as Duke University's Brain Tumor Center as well as for University of Pennsylvania, Department of Neurosurgery, The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, UCLA- Department of Neurology, The Brain Tumor Society, Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Department of Neurolgy, The Nick Wickman Foundation, The foundation's primary fund raisers are their Heroes of Hope Golf Tournament and Silent Auction and their Cooking up a CURE cookbooks.
