Dr Susan C. Pannullo to lecture on 2 brain tumor topics at the Association of Neurological Surgeons annual meeting in San Francisco next week
1. "Therapeutic Strategies for High Grade Gliomas" which will be part of a program on "The Changing Approach to High Grade Gliomas" on Monday April 24, 2006. The other speakers will include Dr. Michael Vogelbaum of the Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Rolando Del Maestro of the Montreal Neurological Institute. Dr.pannullo's lecture focuses on the multidisciplinary approach to treatment of high grade gliomas and the changes in treatment strategies that have occured.
2. Women in Neurosurgery's program on Tuesday April 25 is entitled "Focus on Neuro-Oncology" and will feature a lecture by Dr. Pannullo entitled "Tools, Trials, Teamwork and Tears: Life in the World of a Brain Tumor Doctor." The lecture is meant to encourage young neurosurgeons to take care of brain tumor patients and recognize the need for the neurosurgeon's participation in all stages of treatment, not just in the surgery.
