No Generic Substitution of AEDs Without Physician and Patient Consent, Says AAN

April 19, 2007 — Generic substitution of antiepilepsy drugs (AEDs) should not occur without the full knowledge and consent of both the treating physician and the patient, according to a position statement released by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).
