Conference Announcement
Brain Tumour UK?s annual conference will be held at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham on 14 and 15 July 2008. In light of the new venue we are aiming for ?a better innings for patients? bringing together anyone concerned with enhancing the lives of people living with brain tumours, improving treatments and care, and finding a cure.
This two-day conference features an informative and varied programme and will be hosted by Brain Tumour UK and Professor Garth Cruickshank and his specialist team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, it?s an event not to be missed. If you aren?t able to come for both days come for one - you?ll still find it of enormous benefit.
This event provides an opportunity for leading brain tumour professionals to speak on the latest advances in care, treatment and research and for them to talk to patients and carers on an informal basis. At the same time it is an opportunity for brain tumour sufferers and Brain Tumour UK?s supporters and volunteers to meet each other, share experiences and become better informed. Some bursaries will be available on application, subject to certain criteria.
Who should attend? Patients and their families, friends and carers; Members of brain tumour and related health charities/patient support groups; Scientific, medical and health professionals; Fundraisers, volunteers and other supporters; and Policy makers.
What will the conference offer? Opportunities for networking, sharing of advice, experience, knowledge and getting questions answered; Interactive and patient centred workshops; Information on sources of support, help and advice; Stimulating and informative presentations on brain tumours from keynote speakers ; An overview of current brain tumour research and treatments; and an enjoyable and relaxing two days at Edgbaston cricket ground.
