Dr Kesari is a friend of mine, and a great brain tumor doctor and researcher! Just wanted to let you know he moved.
Santosh Kesari, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.N.A, F.A.A.N., has joined the Pacific Brain Tumor Center and the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. He has been appointed as the Director of Neuro-oncology, Professor of Neurosciences and Chair, Department of Translational Neuro-oncology and Neuro-therapeutics. Dr. Kesari's clinical team at the Pacific Brain Tumor Center will see patients with all types of brain cancers and neurological disorders and will conduct leading-edge clinical trials in the areas of immunotherapy and biomarker-based therapies. In the John Wayne Cancer Institute's laboratories, Dr. Kesari and his lab team will approach their research with the philosophy that patients with malignant brain tumors are best treated when physicians understand the molecular and biological characteristics of their cancers. He studies cancer stem cells, their roles in the formation of brain tumors, and resistance to treatment. Dr. Kesari and his team will be working in close collaboration with neurosurgeon, Daniel F. Kelly, M.D. who established the Pacific Brain Tumor Center in 2007.
Dr. Kesari completed his Ph.D. in molecular biology and his M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Before joining Providence Saint John's, he was Professor of Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine, and Director of Neuro-oncology at Moores UC San Diego Cancer Center. He is a member of the Society of Neuro-Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Indian Society of Neuro-Oncology, American Neurological Association, and American Academy of Neurology.
