11th SURVIVING BRAIN TUMORS AWARENESS EVENT—

MAY 23 & 24, 2016—AT CLEVELAND CLINIC

Cleveland, OH—March 28, 2016—We will be holding the Eleventh Surviving Brain Tumors Awareness Event at the Cleveland Clinic on Monday and Tuesday, May 23 & 24, 2016. I, Tonya M. Burwell, currently have and have to deal with living with a brain tumor. I started the Surviving Brain Tumors Awareness Event in 2004 to help educate the public about the prominence of brain tumors in our world today. This year in 2016, there will be over 200,000 people diagnosed with a brain tumor. And there are currently, nearly 700,000 individuals who have to live with and deal with having a brain tumor, like myself, just here in the United States. (Statistics from American Brain Tumor Association, http://www.abta.org/about-us/news/brain-tumor-statistics/)  I also started the Surviving Brain Tumors Awareness Event to help support the organizations that do brain tumor research, and are searching endlessly for a cause and a cure for brain tumors!

We have multiple area prizes, and our big raffle item for this year will be a Microsoft Surface Pro 4. I want to attempt to raise the amount of donations, which we have brought in thus far from all the previous Surviving Brain Tumors Awareness Event’s. All donations we receive and raise through the Surviving Brain Tumors Awareness Event, are donated each and every year to three of the national brain tumor organizations to help facilitate research on brain tumors, and research for a cause and cure for brain tumors, and a portion goes to the Cleveland Clinic for research.

Each year, 100% of the donations we receive go to three of the national brain tumor organizations and the Cleveland Clinic to be used for research for a cause and a cure for brain tumors. The donations from the Eleventh Surviving Brain Tumors Awareness Event will go to the 1. Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation, http://www.cbtf.org/,

2. Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research and Informationhttp://www.virtualtrials.com/, 3. The Livestrong Foundation, http://www.livestrong.org/, and 4. The Cleveland Clinic’s, Rose Ella Burkhardt Brain Tumor & Neuro-Oncology Center, http://my.clevelandclinic.org/neurological_institute/brain-tumor-neuro-oncology/default.aspx.

There are far too many individuals being diagnosed and living with brain tumors today. Brain tumors are not a health problem which is declining; it is growing by leaps and bounds each and every year! This is a health issue that needs to be addressed, so that a cause and cure can be found! I have stepped forward and took the first step, please let your organization step forward and assist me in attempting to help raise awareness about brain tumors! Please take the time to help highlight this cause, so as to make the Eleventh Surviving Brain Tumors Awareness Event the best event; and so that the Eleventh Surviving Brain Tumors Awareness Event will be the most successful in regards to the amount of donations we receive. I can be contacted at the contact information given here. Thank-you for your time, and I want to thank all the organizations that have stepped forward, and made a donation to help make the Surviving Brain Tumors Awareness Event successful!
