Al's Comment:
Both of the grants we gave out today are urgent projects that needed to be done. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to quickly approve them - both applications were received within the last 4 days and our dedicated medical advisory board were able to evaluate and approve them quickly!

Musella Foundation awards 2 more pediatric brain tumor research grants!
Hewlett, NY 12/10/18 - The Musella Foundation announced that it has awarded 2 grants for pediatric brain tumors today:
- $25,000 to Dr. Adam Green, from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, for the project: "Expanding Preclinical Work for a Phase 1/2 Trial of Selinexor and Radiation Therapy in Newly-Diagnosed DIPG and Diffuse Midline Glioma". This grant is from our DIPG All-In-Initiative fund.
- $12,500 to Dr. Simone Srendi, from the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, for the project: "Development of a novel, selective, orally bioavailable PLK4 inhibitor for the treatment of pediatric brain tumors".
Both of these projects have the potential to make a big difference to kids with brain tumors!
These grants top off our best year ever for funding brain tumor research. We awarded 17 grants giving out a total of more than $650,000, as well as a pledge of $1 million over 3 years (of which $250,000 was paid this year). We are starting to see exciting results from the project we funded in the past!
