Al's Comment:

  What a horrible start to the fundraising year!  Last year at this time we gave out 9 grants for $495,000.  This year only gave out 2 grants for $59,432 with another $25-50k possibly going to be awarded soon.

However, these are good projects. unfortunately we had to reject a few other good projects. Hopefully things will get back to normal later this year.

The Musella Foundation Awards 2 Brain Tumor Research Grants

 
Hewlett, NY 6/15/2020 - The Musella Foundation is pleased to announce that we have awarded 2 grants in the total amount of $59,432.  These funds were raised by the National Walk To End Brain Tumors (WalkToEndBrainTumors.org) and donations to our organization.  A big thanks to all those who contributed and to our volunteers!
The projects:
$35,000 to Dr Eric Wong at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for the second year of the project titled: "Computer Modeling of Tumor Treating Fields in the FORWARD Trial "
$24,432 to Dr Anne-Marie Carbonell, of Oncosynergy, for the project "Development of a tissue-based receptor occupancy assay to verify target engagement and determine optimal biological dose of OS2966 delivered via convection-enhanced delivery in a phase I glioblastoma trial".
 
We also have another grant that is just waiting for some paperwork to be completed – will announce that one when it happens!
