Minnesota Brain Tumor 5k Announces 15th Annual Fun Walk/Run

Oak Park Heights, MN / May 19, 2024: The MN Brain Tumor 5K proudly presents its 15th Annual event on May 19, 2024, at Stillwater High School. This inclusive run/walk event aims to raise funds for brain tumor research, and everyone is welcome to participate. The event will feature notable personalities like Chris Carr from the K102 Morning Show, author and fitness instructor Amy Hodge, and Internal Medicine Physician, author, and survivor Courtney Burnett. Novocure, a patient-forward organization that strives to extend survival in some of the most aggressive forms of cancer, will also be available at the event.

The MN Brain Tumor 5K stands out for its unique fundraising model. All funds raised during the event go directly to the Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research and Information, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit public charity that aims to find a cure for brain tumors and provide support to patients and their families. The event is organized by a team of volunteers, and national and local sponsors generously donate funds and resources to ensure the success of the event. Event volunteer Melissa Dickhausen shares her admiration for the cause, saying:

I partake in this event every year because it means a lot and doesn’t get as much recognition as other causes. It is amazing that every single dollar of the registration fees and donations goes to Brain tumor research. The event itself brings a smile to my face, seeing the families and friends come together to support their loved ones or remember those we have lost. You see lots of smiles, tears, and hope during the event. We are hoping to reach a milestone goal of breaking one million and I truly think it could happen, even yet this year.”

Melissa Dickhausen, Event Volunteer for MN Brain Tumor 5K

“We provide emotional and financial support, facilitate educational resources, advocate for patient’s needs, and strive to raise funds for groundbreaking brain tumor research. Together, we aim to make a difference in the lives of those affected by brain tumors and contribute to the advancement of effective treatments.”

Al Musella, President of the Musella Foundation
